Tara Kalnitsky | Director

Tara graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Fine Arts. She majored in Ceramics and Painting but has gravitated towards Illustration Markers and Polymer Clay. She is glad to be back in a school environment filled with amazing aspiring artists of all ages. Between the teachers and the students, she finds everyday at One River gratifying and inspiring!

Fred Quayenortey | Assistant Director of Member Services

Graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Animation. He specializes in Storyboarding, 2D Animation, and Illustration. Fred has freelanced on projects in animation, games, and advertising. He draws much of his influences from a love for cartoons and film, and the stories of his peers. Fred is excited to grow closer with the One River family and help them bring their stories to life.

Alyssa Lopez | Assistant Director of Education

Alyssa Lopez, born and raised in New Jersey, began her education at F.I.T for Fashion Design and Illustration and completed her AA in the Arts at Brookdale. She has completed two apprenticeships. One under Tom Smith, a Marvel Studios Colorist on the Spider Man comics. The other, Richard Botto, an award winning equestrian portrait artist. Alyssa likes to work in all mediums. Alyssa hopes to continue spreading her love and knowledge of the arts to the students of Clark!

Bobbi V

Bobbi Van Etten | Student Services Coordinator | Digital & Studio Instructor (Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Bobbi graduated from Sussex County Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts. She specializes in illustration, primarily focused on character work, while taking inspiration from her interests and working as a convention artist and freelance illustrator in her own time. With One River's wide variety of classes, she's excited to help her students expand on their abilities and tell their stories through their artwork.

Jay Moreines | Student Services Coordinator

Jay graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art in Interior Design. Jay has always loved art, psychology and fashion. Most of her hobbies revolve around art, including scrapbooking, drawing, painting, and sculpting. Always inspired by the world around her, she hopes her work will inspire others.

Zoe Diakides | Student Services Coordinator

Zoe graduated from Emerson College with a B.A. in Writing, Literature, and Publishing. She has since focused her energy into helping others create and explore their artistic abilities while fostering her own creativity. Zoe aims to create a welcoming space for artists to flourish at Clark One River by being a helpful resource for everyone.

Kate Annen | Studio Instructor
(Teens & Adults)

Graduate from the University of Cape Town with a B.A.(Art), H.D.E. and brings international experience having lived in South Africa, Germany and the United States. Kate has taught all ages, but mainly High School Art concentrating on Painting, Drawing, Mixed Media, Ceramics and History of Art and Architecture. She takes great pleasure encouraging personal growth, exploration, and a love for art in all her students.

Jia Hang Zhang | Digital & Studio Instructor (Teens)

Graduate from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's Degree in Design. Jia Hang specializes in digital illustration, typography, and branding; and constantly keeping up to date with design trends along with illustration techniques that can help speed up the process of creating. With a background in illustration and design, Jia Hang is excited to teach and help the students at One River achieve their goals one step at a time.

Irene Domingo | Digital & Studio Instructor (Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Graduate from Kean University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics. Irene is a multi-disciplined artist specializing in drawing, illustration, digital, and ceramic sculpture. Her works of art bring fantasy into the realm of reality. As a teacher she creates an environment in which students can engage in creative exploration together.

 

JAYNE M (1)

Jayne Mansfield | Studio Teacher
(Art Start & Grades K-2)

Jayne grew up in central New Jersey in a family of artists, musicians and educators. She has been working with mixed media and teaching young artists to hone in on their talent since 2004. She is an elementary school teacher in a nearby town, as well as teaching all ages here, at One River. She is passionate about creating art and encouraging others to reach their artistic goals. She loves how One River exemplifies acceptance and a warm learning environment for all ages.

Rachel Eisenberg

Rachel Eisenberg | Studio Teacher
(Grades K-2 & Teens)

Rachel graduated from Rutgers University with a major in Visual Arts and a minor in psychology. She is currently studying at Caldwell University majoring in Counseling with a focus in Art Therapy. Rachel has been teaching art at One River for the past two years. Her favorite medium is oil paint, although recently she has grown more fond of working with markers and colored pencils. Rachel’s favorite part of working at One River is watching her students grow and learn. She is passionate in guiding them through their creative journey and seeing how they get inspired.

Joelle Carey | Digital & Studio Teacher
(Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Joelle graduated from Rutgers University with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in digital media and communications. Her specialization includes different kinds of printmaking, and digital illustrations with a focus on characters and a preference for bookmaking. Joelle has been working with One River for close to two years and enjoys helping students explore new ideas and giving them the opportunity to try something new to help them grow as artists.

Kathy Solis | Studio & Digital Teacher
(Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Kathy graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and minors in Advertising and Digital Marketing. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at Marywood University. Her work bridges both the Graphic Design and Fine Art worlds, with specialties in branding, editorial design and illustration. In the Fine Arts, she focuses on acrylic painting, graphite drawing, and watercolor. Passionate about creativity in all its forms, Kathy enjoys working across digital and traditional media. She loves teaching at One River, where she connects with others who share her passion for the arts and helps guide them on their creative journey.

Emma Mark | Studio Teacher
(ArtStart & Grades K-12)

Emma Mark is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh with a bachelors in Psychology. A visual artist and educator, she is currently teaching high school art and works across painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media; exploring themes of identity, memory, and emotional connection. She values a child-centered, exploratory mindset in teaching across age groups and is excited to join the One River team to continue creating a space where students of all ages can feel confident, inspired, and free to express themselves through art.

Gianna Malone | Digital Teacher
(Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Gianna is a digital creative with a background in graphic design, marketing, and content creation. Her art practice focuses on creating captivating marketing materials with 3D design, using tools like Blender to bring stories and concepts to life. She’s been using Blender since 4th grade, and it played a huge role in shaping her passion for visual design. She’s excited to now help students discover their own creativity through 3D Design at One River!

Juan Betancur | Digital Teacher
(Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Juan is a passionate artist and educator who brings over a decade of experience to both the classroom and the studio. He earned his degree in Education and Fine Arts from William Paterson University, with a minor in Japanese Studies, and later completed his Master’s in Second Language Education. For the past 10 years,  His personal artwork explores the human figure and form, using bold colors and dynamic shapes to create immersive, emotionally resonant pieces. Over the last 8 years, Juan has embraced digital art as a powerful new medium, blending traditional sensibilities with modern tools to bring his artistic vision to life. He’s very excited to bring his passion to One River!

Dez Santos | Digital & Studio Teacher
(Grades 3-5 & Teens)

Dez graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a major in Sequential Arts and a minor in Concept Design for Animation and Games. She specializes in storyboards and comics, both in traditional and digital media, illustration, and merchandise production. She's excited about teaching One River students about the world of art and the amazing possibilities it brings.
